Your child took the Fall iReady Diagnostic Assessment in September. This assessment measures the amount of knowledge your child has at the beginning of the year on skills such as vocabulary, reading comprehension (informational and literary), phonological awareness, and high-frequency words. Based on your child's results, the program places him or her in an instructional group; and he or she works from that level until the they have successful mastered the skill.

This assessment will be administered again in mid-January and Mid-May. It is my desire that at each administration of the assessment, your child will improve. Please encourage your child to do his or her absolute best each time the assessment is given.

Every week, students are given six vocabulary words and their definitions. They complete a daily activity using those six words. At the end of the week, students are quizzed on those six words. Please review and drill your child daily, so that he or she may be successful on the vocabulary quiz. Quizzes count as 30% of their grade.
